Red light bulb,
originally uploaded by spyzter.

Spyzter has posted a short series of ballistic (high speed) photos. Most guys have an attraction towards things blowing up, but this refines that a bit by introducing an element of art. The series left me wanting more, much more. I want a website where I can ask him to shoot things of my choosing and take a picture of the process. There’s all sorts of things I’d like to see blown up. I’d even be willing to ship him items to shoot…and shoot.

Thanks for the writeup, Olaf. I had actually considered setting up a new ballistics range, however I live in the suburbs and so the experiments cannot be done safely (also, I’ve got a toddler in the house :)

Yes! I love that series… my favorite I think is the crayons being blown to shreds.

I think a grapefruit would be good to see. Well… really, I could probably look around the house for 5 minutes and find all kinds of cool things to blow up.
