Paying My Dues

It has been a long time since I was really sick. This morning, I awoke with the feeling that perhaps my stomach was still full of last night’s dinner. Turns out, it was; never a good sign. When I’m nauseous, it seems that everything provokes it. You’d hope, at least, that having a real sick day means you can sit around at home and watch TV or play on the computer. Not so – the TV and computer bring about waves of nausea. There are way too many food commercials on TV. A little tip for would-be nauseous watchers out there: DiY never plays food commercials.

At 3:00pm, I awoke again to feel much better. No nausea. It’s a far cry from feeling good, but it’ll do for now. I took the first step toward the BRAN or BRAT diet, whichever it is. So far, the bananna is sitting well enough.

Olaf of the Iron Belly actually got sick? I can’t believe it. Do you think it was last week’s IHOP experience finally catching up? Glad you’re on the mend.

If a mega-virus causes me to purge, it would have killed all of you two weeks ago. Count yourselves lucky that my immune system dealt with the problem.

It’s BRATT diet-bananas, rice, apples (applesauce), (dry) toast, and (weak, sweet) tea. And it’s for diarrhea, not nausea. Nausea and vomiting is responsive to clear fluids, but not usually water–clear sodas, clear juices, gatorade, etc.
