Tastey Nuts

Thursday, July 31st, 2008

I’m a fan of the seed and nut family, as many can attest. I maintain a supply of them at my desk at work for the occasion of snacking, which comes regularly. There are also infinite jokes to be told that never get old:
Hello everybody. I have brought my nuts for everybody […]

The Sins of Man

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

We’ve returned home from Philadelphia, though home is not exactly as we left it. There is a gray storm cloud hovering above us; perhaps still building in power and ferocity, or lingering remnants of a thunderhead. I’m not talking about the weather, though the hurricane located near Corpus Christi does invoke a palpable invocation of the mood.

Top 5: Things You Wanted to Know About Me

Monday, July 14th, 2008

The meme is apparently now a lost word; used only by uncool dads and hipless (as in the lack of being hip) half-wits.  I’m getting on in years, relatively speaking, and am inclined to use such lingo as to embarrass those who would be so easily offended.
For lack of better alternatives, I bring to you […]

No Polluter Commuter!

Friday, June 20th, 2008

I’m not much of an activist, but I have taken action in support of our environment.  As of this past Monday, I began what I hope to be a consistent plan to reduce my gas consumption, reduce mileage on my car, and increase my fitness level.  I am currently riding a bicycle for the most […]

The Year is 2035…

Thursday, June 5th, 2008

Perhaps some of you are aware of Charles Lindbergh’s other work.  Lindbergh crossed the Atlantic Ocean in 1927, but a few years later he was able to get some time with the surgeon, Dr. Alexis Carrel to discuss some common interests.  It turns out that Lindbergh believed it to be possible to build a heart […]

It’s Like Watching NASCAR on Acid

Monday, May 26th, 2008

We went out on Mother’s Day with some friends to see what we all knew would be a bad movie, Speed Racer.  Between the 9 or so adults, there were also 3 children around Balthazar’s age.  If nothing else, we thought they would thoroughly enjoy the over-the-top cheese and hyper-saturated pop-film.  We might have all […]

Zune 2.x

Tuesday, March 4th, 2008

You may recall that I had written up the Zune Wish List a couple of months after I received mine in December of 2006. I took the time to assess my needs and what the Zune hardware and software could do to meet those needs. It has now been nearly a year since […]

World of Wheels

Sunday, February 3rd, 2008

We attended our first ever World of Wheels show in Atlanta this year with friends. We are largely unfamiliar with the “World of Wheels,” as it were, though it was actually cooler than I had imagined. Balthazar had a time running from brightly colored car to Hot Wheels-inspired dream. We enjoyed the fantastic detail put […]
