Kids’ countdown to the new year at noon at Ink in Gainesville. #
Happy New Year! We’re out of here and heading to the beach in the later A.M. #
I was just singing along to a song using my bass voice. My wife said it sounded like a burp! #
New Year’s Day is nearly over. We [...]

Musings for the week of 2008-12-22

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

Just noticed I’m eating at a place with an 84 health score. If I don’t twit in after lunch, I’m dead. #
I have lived through lunch! Perhaps hot coffee will sterilize my bowels. #
70°F on Dec. 18th – this weather has sapped my energy completely. #
Nothing beats blasting out your favorite tunes from high school [...]

@HamWithCam With the exception of the beach part, that sounds like a normal day using bike panniers. #
Muffin, banana, granola bar, and yogurt. That’s a pretty good breakfast! I normally try for the biscuits and gravy @ work cafeteria. #
Captain’s Wafers, coffee, and almond granola – ready to ride! #

Seasonal Inspiration

Friday, October 5th, 2007

At this time of year, every year, I start getting a fever for some serious woodwork. For some reason, the change to Fall brings out the craftsman in me and I begin planning new designs and reviewing old plans for carpentry projects I’d like to do. Some are extreme, long-term projects like a [...]

Flattery will get you everywhere!

Sunday, September 30th, 2007

I just noticed that a few of my pictures had been “favorited” in Flickr by a man I didn’t know. It wouldn’t strike me normally, as I don’t know most of the people on Flickr.com, however these pictures seemed to be of a particular theme.

So, yeah. The guy had been favoriting a lot [...]

Costume Parade on Peachtree St.

Saturday, September 1st, 2007

Wake-up, coffee, parade, lunch. The morning just flew by, but being a drummer in the parade was a blast! We all took a part in it; Fox dancing, Jeff as PeeWee Herman, and Amanda as Ms. Yvonne.
I was able to work with the crowd more this year and give out some nods and [...]

Stepping Out of Your Comfort Zone

Sunday, August 5th, 2007

I broke out of my comfort zone in two big ways this weekend; both involving drumming. When it comes to personal challenges, those involving my creative efforts are the most difficult to engage. A failure at something coming from creativity is a personal one, to me. However, I don’t feel that I [...]

Caribou Single Serving

Tuesday, July 31st, 2007

Caribou has recently brought to my attention the fact that they sell the Keurig single-cup brewer and have caribou coffee available for it. That’s really cool! My friend Spazz has a single-cup system at her house and I use it as often as I’m allowed. I’m not a convert yet, though it [...]

Pandora’s Jukebox

Thursday, June 14th, 2007

The name Pandora means “all gifted” in Greek. In ancient Greek mythology, Pandora received many gifts from the Gods, including the gift of music, from Apollo. She was also, as we all know, insatiably curious.
Unlike those Gods of old, however, we celebrate that virtue and have made it our mission to reward the musically curious [...]
